Thermopile sensors

Heimann Sensor offers a wide range of thermopile sensors for non-contact temperature measurements and gas detection.

Thermopiles consist of many thermocouples that are usually connected in series. They generate a small electric voltage when exposed to IR radiation or heat

Thermopile Sensors

  • Small sensor chips 0.6×0.6 mm² and 0.76×0.76 mm²   for remote temperature measurements
  • larger \ chips like 1.2×1.2 mm² or  2.1×2.1 mm²  for gas detection.
  • various packages from SMD to small TO-46 and TO-39

Thermopile arrays for thermal imaging

  • Small arrays with 8×8 elements
  •  Medium sized arrays with 16×16 and 32×32 elements
  • Large arrays with up to 80×64 and 120×84 elements for higher spatial resolutions
  • can be combined with different optics
  • provide either wide fields-of-view with over 90° or narrow fields-of-view for measurements and detection from a greater distance

Thermopile modules

Consist of a thermopile sensor or thermopile array with an integrated ASIC for signal conditioning. The ASIC amplifies the small sensor’s voltage and provides either an analog or a digital output. In the case of an analog output, you receive the amplified sensor voltage value. In the case of a digital output, it is possible to select between voltage and temperature value.
All modules have an integrated linear temperature reference voltage. Voltage  can be obtained from a separate output channel.

Pyroelectric Sensors

Pyroelectric single-element and multi-channel infrared detectors from Heimann Sensor are designed for usage in spectroscopy, pyrometry and security engineering applications. Very high values of specific detectivity D* in the range of 10 9 cm Hz 1/2 W -1 are achieved by using modern ion beam etching technology for extremely thin elements. The great variety of infrared sensor constructions makes it possible to realize custom-made solutions for moderate and large quantities with excellent price-performance ratio.

Heimann Presents:

New 120×84 Pixel Infrared Thermopile Array

The beauty of this new array is the reduced pixel pitch, which is now 60 µm instead of 90 µm. This results in similar focal plane dimensions for both the 80×64 and 120×84 array. Thanks to same TO-8 housing and 6 pin SPI interface this facilitates a drop-in solution to replace the 80×64 with the 120×84 array
